I just got done reading the BattleStar Galactica fan forum at SciFi.com. I’d forgotten that science fiction brings out some of the biggest losers in the world. Actually, every topic has it’s freaks. The social curiosities float to the top. Football (body painters, stat freaks), Stamp collectors (ever known an interesting stamp collector?) etc. These are the types that, if you show an even polite interest, they will talk to you for hours until the only polite way out is suicide.

So I’m reading this BattleStar post regarding last week’s episode called “Unfinished Business”. Oh boy. The crew have an on-ship boxing match to blow off steam. But it’s not that simple. The world of Battlestar show men and woman as equal. Woman are leaders, the president, fighter pilots and at one point, the head of the military. Some genius took the episode as an endorsement of male on female violence. Considering in one fight Starbuck (girl foot) kicked Hotdog’s ass (boy ass) I don’t think that’s possible. That freak led to others posting their uninformed opinions about how woman are weak. I couldn’t sign in fast enough to repeat what others already pointed out.

Almost any woman can beat the crap out of any man. It amazing to me that our society still teachs that woman are weaker then men. With all due respect ladies and gentleman, that mentality hasn’t stopped men from being abusive, or women from being abused. Ladies, kick ass where and when you need to. But don’t be as stupid as men.
